| There are many houses and real estate

Pepin area. We are seeing a few new real estate listings every week
and they're selling fast. At the present time, the Pepin area does
not seem to be heavily affected by the housing crunch that most
metropolitan areas are experiencing. Western Wisconsin (especially the small villages of Pepin, Stockholm, Maiden Rock, and Alma) doesn't have a lot of turnover. People who buy real estate in the Mississippi River Valley tend to stay a long time. Many have lived in the area all their lives; others have moved away and then returned to the Lake Pepin area as they approach retirement.
